The "terrorist" that threw the bomb at the infamous Dolce Vita cafe in northern Mitrovica may be a teenager with hemophilia and two brain operations that have caused him to lose all memory until one year ago. However, one Albanian witness put Adem on the bridge (away from the cafe) at the time of the explosion, while his family was shopping nearby in the southern part of Mitrovica. Under these circumstances, it is pure luck that Adem was moved to the Albanian part and not to the north as was attempted, where later a crowd of about 500 Serbs rioted.

Our friend, Serb leader Oliver Ivanonic, was at the cafe and witnessed the attacker approaching. Serb media and leaders (B92 quoted above nonincluding) have gone berserk accusing Albanians of terrorism and whatever other pre-conceived notions they had about the group.

I dont think there is need to put inverted commas around the word terrorist.

If one throws a bomb at a group of civilians in a cafe (and Albanian NGOers go there too) the definition of terrorist is clear.

Isnt adem from a well known Kosovar nationalist family?

I mean if the story is that the kid is crazy where on earth did he get a bomb from?

And if the new story is that it wasnt him then how come international eyewitnesses at the bridge had him arrested?

To be honest with you I'm not sure why you are more concerned about the likely perpetrator of the attack. Shouldnt you be more concenred about the welfare of the victims?

BG Anon,

Serb media is the only one to have used the term. Does this mean that different writers understand this word differently? It is certainly a loaded term and I would use it with caution unless you want to project the event in Mitrovica to other things happening today in the word, like Serb media has been trying to do.

Trust me, I'm as much for catching and punishing the coward that did it. What I was against was the fact that a mentally and physically disabled person is possibly being used as a scapegoat for the failure of UNMIK Police, KFOR and KPS to protect what is supposed to be the most protected area in Kosovo. Even the security cameras failed again.
